Summer '16

Hello to all!
Hope all is swell.

As Memorial Day weekend comes to an end, and the only thing MDW has left us was it's weather. With the temperature rapidly increasing, the transition from spring to summer seemed like a distant memory. Blind sided by the heat, the concept of dressing stylish gets overshadowed by the desire of remaining indoors with central air. On the other hand, I believe I have found a solution to it all.

Interchangeable, minimalist, light material pieces. Do not let the sun's intense beams refrain from a good time. The key to surviving this heat and keeping your sense of style is purchasing pieces that are able to stand alone and that do not need a massive amount of effort. For instance, shirt dresses and maxi skirts are ideal. Shirt dresses are great for a quick outfit, and maxi skirts allows a cool breeze to the leg without the worry of anything being exposed.

For this outfit, I decided to wear a rustic orange maxi skirt from Forever21. With the skirt being made from a chiffon material, the bottom half did not feel heavy or restricted. The only downside of this piece was the lack of the second layer cover that most sheer maxi skirt have. To fix this problem, I recommend wearing a pair of black silk shorts.

On top, I am wearing a black crop halter also from Forever21. Having the top and bottom exude a free spirit flower child vibe, I decided to continue the concept and add a silver arm cuff with a tortoise stone in the middle, and a silver chained choker.

To conclude the look, I wore a brown gladiator sandal.

What are you wearing this summer?

Until next time,

Keithlane
